Biosketch

Sarah Luongo is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan, where she studies the spatial energetics of reef fishes to inform ecosystem-based management. She also serves as a Lecturer at California State University, Long Beach, teaching Fish Physiology. Sarah earned her B.S. in Marine Biology from CSU Long Beach and her Ph.D. in Biology from Florida International University, where her research focused on the energetics, behavior, and space use of marine predators in pelagic and coral reef ecosystems. As a marine ecologist, she is broadly interested in how physiological traits shape the behavior and movement patterns of marine fishes.

About the Seminar Series

The Seminar Series is a unique opportunity for students to learn about new developments in biology and what biologists do after they graduate. Hosted by the Department of Biological Sciences at California State University, Long Beach, the weekly meetings invite guests from universities, research laboratories, and industry to present and discuss current topics in biology. All students are encouraged to attend.
