It is always interesting to share a bit of background on how I became involved in hypnosis and later in therapy. One of the things that dogged my education and childhood was a bad memory, linked to issues around dyslexia. It was through hypnotherapy that I gained a greater understanding of how my memory worked and how to reduce the effects of the dyslexia and the way it undermined my confidence and stopped me from progressing and achieving the goals I had set myself.
My fascination with hypnosis grew and I became a pupil of David Lesser who developed Curative Hypnotherapy and later on Lesserian Hypnosis. In 1991 I gained qualification in Curative Hypnotherapy. I owe a great deal to this caring, intelligent and kind gentleman who sadly passed away in 2001, having created the Association of Curative Hypnotherapists.
After having seen almost eighty people (statistics) and as my understanding of Curative Hypnotherapy deepened, my original skepticism was transformed into full-blown conviction. It was at that time that I became fully aware of its healing potential and have seen it work time and time again.
To this day, I believe that it is one of the most misunderstood forms of all therapies even though the BMA (British Medical Association) recognised it as a medical science over 100 years ago.
During my time in practice the public's perception of hypnosis has changed. Hypnosis was often viewed as intimidating and controlling especially when used as a form of entertainment. However, over the years I have seen a positive change in the understanding of Hypnosis as a useful therapeutic tool.
I now live with my wife and son in Mijas Costa, Spain since moving here in 2003.
